AoE Life Update!

This year so far has been absolutely insane! I took a short break from writing to get my own life stabilized, although I’m not convinced we ever get it completely stable! As we have learned this year, you never know what is around the corner! My little babe is now 6 months next week, we have moved to a whole new state, and my husband and I both quit our jobs! A lot of the goals I made for myself this year have taken a pause, and just when I think I have gotten a routine down, everything changes! But it’s the current stage of life we are in, and it’s definitely not boring!

A short update on the Gilkers. We have left Joplin, Missouri and we moved our family a state over to Tulsa, Oklahoma! My husband has decided to go to pilot school! I am extremely excited for him, because he has spent our marriage driving a truck doing a job he doesn’t love to take care of our family. Now we have made it a priority for him to chase his dream! We have a lot more to do to make this dream happen, but we took a leap of faith and came to Tulsa, knowing God is going to provide for our family, and make this dream a reality!

Our six month old son, Benjamin is absolutely thriving! He is the absolute best, and smiles 95% of his day. We are so lucky to be his parents and I have loved every stage of baby boy’s life! It has come with it’s own sets of challenges and I have not slept through the night in 6 months, BUT it’s so worth it, and I can’t wait to share with you all, more about the adventures of parenting!

I am still getting closer and closer to my degree, and I am excited because this last year of school, there will be internships and volunteering with different populations in the recreational therapy field, so lots of hands on learning and experience. I just know I will have so much to share with you as I continue to learn and grow!

The Art of Encouragement has remained an important part of my goals! I’m eager to pick up where I left off and continue to encourage you in your own goals! Sometimes life gets a little crazy, and just getting through your day becomes your focus! But I am excited now that I have achieved a bit of stability to reprioritize, refocus, and get back to what I am passionate about!

So how have you managed these last couple of months? Have you made the most of quarantine or has it been a struggle for you? Have you accomplished any of your 2020 goals, or has this crazy year thrown a wrench in your life? I would love to hear from you! I will talk to you soon!
